JOURNALISM AND MEDIA STUDIES – FACULTY OF JOURNALISM. MEDIA AND COMMUNICATION
Welcome to the Journalism and Media Studies Department – Bishop Barham University College (BBUC). We are thrilled! The Department is under the Faculty of Journalism, Media and Communication manned at the Uganda Christian University main Campus in Mukono.
We offer courses that enrich graduates with knowledge, skills and attitudes, preparing them to serve well in a complex and fast changing Journalism (Print, Radio, Television and Digital/Online Journalism) and Communication (which includes Corporate, Development and Humanitarian) environment, as well as take leadership roles and set trends where they serve. This is all enabled by a curriculum that is skilfully designed to address local journalism and communication problems from a theoretical and ethical standpoint.
The department is blessed with well-trained, motivated and committed staff modelled media and communication market. The teaching is practical-based facilitated by two fully-equipped studios for audio and video production in the department enabling us to impart a complete education into our students making them complete persons in the ever-demanding industry.
We currently offer, the Degree of Bachelor of Arts in Journalism and Communication, the Diploma of Journalism and Mass Communication as well as the Certificate of Journalism. The Bachelors program runs for 3 (three) years while the Diploma and Certificate programs run for 2 (two) in a tranquil environment. Our intakes are in September and May every year.
